Job Description
If you love the Bush and have passion for Hospitality this position may just be what you are looking for. Our client is looking for a Camp Manager to manage their Luxury Tented Camps in the Kwa Tuli Private Nature Reserve. The successful candidate will report directly to the company Board Members.
Key Job Elements
Assist in developing long-term and annual management plans that support the strategic direction set by the Board;
Provide leadership to 25 employees to ensure the successful and efficient execution of management plans;
Oversee Lodge Management and Nature Reserve operations;
Responsible for the day-to-day operational activities such as, managing reservations, inventory, staff, making schedules etc.
Oversee the accounting function and the preparation of monthly management accounts;
Develop and effectively manage capital and operating budgets;
Assist the research team with the management of their operations;
Build a culture of teamwork and customer service excellence;
Succession planning and training for all key functions;
Participate in the development of marketing and sales strategies and plans;
Liaise with external stakeholders including local landowners and communities, shareholders,
Government agencies, NGO’s and academic institutions.
Regularly communicate with Board Members and Shareholders to ensure that they are informed of developments and activities taking place on the Reserve.
Requirements
Strong operational and admin acumen and familiar with financial reporting structures;
You will need to be a quick thinker and ready to make educated decisions in a timely manner.
Self-starting, problem solving skills, able to think outside of the box, show flexibility in changing working environment.
You must be energetic with a ‘’can do’’ mentality.
Previous experience and a proven track record as a Manager with excellent human and communication skills.
Minimum of 5 year’s-experience working at Manager or senior management level within the tourism, wilderness or hospitality sectors;
A proven track record working with and leading diverse stakeholder groups and reaching target outcomes;
Ability to build, lead and motivate a strong employee team;
Have experience with, and a strong passion for wildlife and conservation.
Willingness to accept that this is a new business which grows fast what requires a strong ability to adapt to changes.
Must hold a degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management & Tourism
Additional qualifications in the field of financial learning, Wildlife Management, Human Resources etc would be an added advantage.
This position is only available to persons currently eligible to work in Botswana.
Our client is offering a competitive package based on suitability and experience. The package also included housing.
