PURPOSE
- Responsible for creating and maintaining appropriate levels of operational locus, integrity and control strategies within a group of branches.
- Acts as a functional liaison for operational activities between. Corporate. Retail Lending. Credit. Risk and Compliance and all operational support departments.
- Works with operational support departments to implement new processes, policies and procedures and monitor branch operational activities and service levels.
- Directly manages all Branch Operations Managers and Administration department within the Bank.
- Improve bank efficiencies by reviewing, developing new ideas in bank policies and procedures in line with international world best practices, regulatory and statuary requirements
- Ensures business growth through directing and managing business operations activities to ensure they are delivered in accordance with the strategic objectives in conjunction with HOO and other staff members
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluate and enhance existing processes in branches, and other operation units
- Centralize processes to achieve greater efficiency
- Ensure Operations units adhere to set Service Level Agreements
- Conduct periodic branch operational audits to ensure adherence to policy and procedure
- Skill development through training on controls, processes and records kept
- Check and monitor CL and suspense accounts for visa and ATM transactions (Head office & Branches)
- Perform scrutiny checks on dally reports submitted by branches
- Support other units under Operations such as Clearing, Central Processing Centre, Forex back office and Admin and Procurement
- Monitor customer queries, and complaints register (Comma 5) and ensure queries are resolved within stipulated time
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
- Ensure audit findings/gaps are attended after the submission of the audit report
- Conduct skills gap analysis and implement recommendations
- Ensure acceptable audit results and adherence to bank and regulatory procedures
- Work with various departments to support and implement new initiatives
- Maintain adequate controls to ensure compliance with consumer protection statutes/regulations in a defined area of responsibility
- Implement bank-directed changes relating to regulatory amendments
- Ensure operations staff members commit to Brand Values

- Degree in Business Management /Banking and Finance or equivalent
- At least Ten (10) years’ experience in Banking, Seven (7) of which should have been in Branch Management. Operations and Reconciliations
KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service •Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices
- Applicant should possess knowledge of regulatory and compliance issues
- Ability to analyze financial data

- Strong leadership skills
