Purpose
To drive sales strategies for Global Market products and manage the team of dealers and the sales team to ensure that the business meets the set targets for growth in terms of profitability, turnover and client base. This entails ensuring a strategic and co-ordinated sales focus on servicing Global Markets needs of both existing and new business clients, and liaising with external and internal stakeholders to achieve optimal performance.

experience and qualifications
- Professional accreditation in treasury and qualification with an appropriate business related degree or its equivalent.
- ACI Dealing Certificate or to be successfully completed within 3 months.
- An excellent working knowledge of treasury products i.e.,
- Spot foreign exchange
- Forward foreign exchange
- Deposits/arbitrage
- Derivatives (Not a pre requisite)
- Interest rate dynamics and interest rate products and other intermediate products
- A good understanding of macro economics and current economic trends and their effects on the business
- A good appreciation and knowledge of Risk Management, covering Operational Risk, Market Risk, Counterparty Risk and Credit Risk within a banking environment
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in marketing foreign exchange / money market products and services
- Where applicable, understanding the basics of Exchange Controls
- Strong networks within the corporate / commercial / government sectors
- Experience in high-level relationship building and maintenance
- Computer literacy – with good spreadsheet, (Microsoft Office) Word, Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.
- Market ethics according to the ACI code of Conduct
- Understand the principles and practice of foreign exchange operations.
- Marketing techniques i.e. how to win the confidence of the client.
responsibilities
- Implement and execute sales strategy around growing and servicing clients while ensuring that it is in line with and supports Global Markets broader strategy.
- Ensures that the processes, structures, systems and resources required to effectively service existing clients and develop new clients are in place and continuously reviewed, thereby contributing positively to the efficiency and profitability of RMB Botswana.
- Ensure that the TEAM proactively attend to clients needs and that group service standards and level of professionalism are adhered to Retention and development of existing business
- Has responsibility for a portfolio, with the aim of providing high quality service levels which are consistent with the standard of service delivered across FICC.
- Co-ordination and facilitation of structured products roll-out to in-country clients on a one-on-one as well as corporate basis, in alliance with RMBGM.
- Facilitates the entrenchment of a culture of global thinking, and promotes the sharing of business leads/opportunities (cross-selling) within the wider FirstRand Group.
- Proactively identify customer needs and facilitate suitable treasury products to service their requirements in the most beneficial manner possible. New business
- Formulate and review a strategy to pursue clients that have never dealt business with GM Botswana.
- Formulate and continuously review a strategy to pursue clients already dealing with other divisions of FNBB and RMBB, but not dealing with Global Markets .
- Maintain close contact with all internal stakeholders. (e.g. segments, Branches, other product houses) and leverage off their deals that might have opportunities.
- Maintain close contact with all internal stakeholders leverage off their support .
- Identify new customer needs and facilitate suitable products to service their requirements in the most beneficial manner possible.
- Builds client relationships with the objective of seeking new business. Relationships (Internal & External)
- Establishes, grows and maintains a broad network of strategic stakeholders both internal and external to FICC and the Group in order to ensure that the correct communication and decision making channels are open and available.
- Supports the RM’s (Relationship Managers) in developing relationships with strategically significant and/or difficult clients to ensure that the strategy and business objectives of the client and the Bank are achieved.
- Ability to build credibility across all levels within and external to FNB via the skilful application of specialist knowledge and relationship building skills.
- Continually drives and role models a superior client orientated culture within FICC that aims to exceed client expectations.
- Ensures that supportive, open relationships exist between RM’s, relevant stakeholders and service providers within FNB Botswana.
- Gains leads and access to strategically influential stakeholders in large corporate, commercial and government organisations in order to introduce them to the benefits of dealing through FNB Botswana and the FirstRand Group. Information & Reporting
- Has a thorough understanding of the strategic business drivers, opportunities, challenges, needs, competition and threats inherent in the environments/business sectors within which clients operate.
- Has insight into local and international trends, developments and benchmarks within the financial sector and specifically products.
- Has a good understanding of both traditional and non-traditional competitors, their drivers, products, strengths, vulnerabilities, market share/client base and the impact that these factors have on Global Markets value proposition to the client base.
- Monthly report on FICC client related activities to RMB GM .
- Daily customer visit and call report sharing.
