Vacancy: Risk Manager

Reports to the Group Head of Risk

JOB PURPOSE

Lead the risk function and actively participate in defining strategic objectives to support the business; business planning and setting the direction of the business In line with Croup strategy. The job holder is the principal risk owner for the major risk functions within the business unit.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Play an active and key role In setting country strategy by understanding and articulating key macroeconomic forecasts, country landscape, regulations and microeconomic themes, industry and sector developments, all in a forward-looking perspective.
• Develop and use data, metrics and dashboards to monitor Risk Appetite utilization, and set benchmarks, triggers, and actions to manage Risk appetite.
• Drive the development of risk specialization to build in-house expertise that can be efficiently transferred across business units

• Elevate Collections/Business Support and recoveries in the organization, streamline model -Analysis of risk-related management information to allow decisions to be made.
• Ensure the concepts of Traded Market Risk and metrics across the bank (management and Board) are understood, working closely with Treasury.

• Ensure independent control and oversight over Funding, Liquidity, Capital and Pension Risk (where applicable), drive decision making through use of metrics.
• Create and maintain the local Capital and Liquidity Key Risk Control Framework and. -Actively own. drive and implement Data. Models and Infrastructure change.

QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE

• Proven track record m the successful delivery of Risk Management
• 10 years’ experience and preferably at managerial level
• Bachelor of Commerce.
• CFA required
