JOB VACANCY: Driver

Frey Services (proprietary) Limited is looking for an experienced person to fill the position of a Driver tenable in Ghanzi and the surrounding areas. Note that the position will be transferable.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A DRIVER:

• Responsible for operating a variety of water & waste management vehicles to collect and transport water, waste and recycling materials to disposal or storage facilities.

• Ability to safely operate mechanisms for loading, compressing and dumping refuse and recyclable materials.

• Assures that assigned vehicle is properly fueled, equipped, lubricated and serviced.

• Washes interior and exterior of assigned vehicle and reports needed repairs immediately.

• Maintain safe and efficient operation of water and waste collection and transport equipment.

• Perform pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspection and complete daily work sheet for equipment operated.

• Complete daily work orders efficiently and record information accordingly, and keep location in order.

• Knowledge of traffic laws involved in equipment operations; safety operations and of safety precautions necessary in operation of equipment, including various types of water and waste collection trucks.

• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; understanding and carry out written and oral instructions.

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, fellow employees and the clients.

• Delivering, servicing and collecting company equipment to and from different locations.

• Carry out relevant repairs on company equipments.

• Undertake any other related duties as directed by management.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Junior Certificate and minimum of one (1) year work experience.

• Class B driver’s license

• PRDP Hazardous and PRDP Goods is an added advantage

• Fire and safety training is an added advantage

• Excellent organizational and communication skills

• Clean Driving Record and road Safety Knowledge

• Attention to detail and time management

• Adaptability and customer Service Skills
