Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and financial transactions.
- Process payments, invoices, receipts, journals and reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly financial reports, management accounts, and budget-versus-actual reports.
- Manage petty cash and banking activities in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Assist with the preparation and monitoring of organizational and project budgets.
- Support payroll administration and statutory deductions.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain proper filing of financial documents and supporting documents.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Monitor expenditure and provide financial advice to programme and management teams.
- Perform any other finance-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or related qualification.
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant accounting experience.
- Current accreditation with the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA).
- Good knowledge of invoicing, reconciliation, payments and financial records.
- Knowledge of Botswana’s tax statutory and financial reporting requirements is an added advantage.
- Good numerical and computer knowledge.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and accounting software skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Must be accurate, reliable, trustworthy and able to work under pressure.
