Agrifeed is looking for a competent and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our Finance Department at Head Office, Gaborone.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and financial transactions.
  • Process payments, invoices, receipts, journals and reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, management accounts, and budget-versus-actual reports.
  • Manage petty cash and banking activities in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the preparation and monitoring of organizational and project budgets.
  • Support payroll administration and statutory deductions.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain proper filing of financial documents and supporting documents.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Monitor expenditure and provide financial advice to programme and management teams.
  • Perform any other finance-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or related qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant accounting experience.
  • Current accreditation with the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA).
  • Good knowledge of invoicing, reconciliation, payments and financial records.
  • Knowledge of Botswana’s tax statutory and financial reporting requirements is an added advantage.
  • Good numerical and computer knowledge.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and accounting software skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Must be accurate, reliable, trustworthy and able to work under pressure.
