Property Management Officer x4 – Botswana Power Corporation

Job Purpose

To plan, organise and control the provision of Corporation’s property to ensure availability of facilities and optimisation thereof. The role executes and/or coordinates elements of the facilities or maintenance service of the Corporation within designated area of operations.
Autonomy – The job holder maintains and updates procedure manuals and checklists.
Coordination – The job holder co-ordinates a small team in performing facility or maintenance service activities.


Optimization – The job holder regularly gives management suggestions on improving operational practices.
Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities
Performs prescribed procurement activities using existing procedures to support others.

Data Management
Supports and enables others to use and benefit from existing data management systems.
Logistics / Arrangements
Ensures the effective use of the principal’s time while following instructions in scheduling appointments and making arrangements for Contractor performance review meetings.


Internal/External Communications
Uses the internal & external communications system to access required information for specific purposes.

Document Management
Creates, organizes and maintains files for the principal’s correspondence and records.
Safety, Health and Environment
Delivers routine support services to others by using the organization’s safety, health and environment systems and protocols.
Project Management
Supports others by performing prescribed project management activities following existing procedures.
Performance Management
Helps manage the performance of direct reports by working within performance management systems. 

Operational Management
Provides operational support by performing prescribed routine activities using existing systems and protocols.
Leadership and Direction
Provides primary supervision to a team performing routine work.
Maintenance and Repair
Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment for emergency repairs, performance preventive maintenance routines, conducts inspections with guidance, and helps to install complex systems.


Improvement / Innovation
Identifies shortcomings in existing processes, systems and procedures, then uses established change management programs to deliver prescribed outcomes and/or provide support services.

Delivers prescribed outcomes for area of responsibility by providing input and/or working within the established facilities plan and ensures optimal utilisation of property as well as revenue generation.
Client & Customer Management (Internal)
Helps senior colleagues manage internal client and customer relationships by using client systems and protocols.
Client & Customer Management (External)
Helps senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using client systems and protocols.
Budgeting & Costing
Tracks budgets and brings variances to the attention of senior colleagues while working within established budgeting systems.
Performs standard and non-routine administrative data processing tasks for the principle and gives colleagues advice on the proper performance of departmental processes.


Work Scheduling / Allocation
Accomplishes work objectives by determining own work schedule, coordinating with support services and assigning short-term tasks to others if necessary.


​A recognised University Degree in Real Estate, Property Management or Equivalent.​​​


​Work Experience

At least 5 years post qualification experience, 3 of which should have been real estate environment.

Managerial Experience

Experience of supervising and directing people and other resources to achieve specific end results within limited timeframes (A minimum of 3 years)
