Risk Manager – Mercantile Insurance Brokers

We would like to invite suitably qualified, innovative, results-oriented, self driven individual with proven track record to apply for the position of Risk Manager tenable in Gaborone office

Experience
Minimum of 5 years work experience in a similar position or higher, extensive knowledge of short-term commercial underwriting, experience in risk management presentation and reporting, business package product design and risk solutions skills

Main Role

• Strategic planning and coordination of risk review and surveys
• Analyze loss history and recommend risk solutions
• Implement risk management methods to minimize and eliminate risk
• Manage and maintain good relations with insurers and reinsurers
• Underwriting and business insurance package value proposition

Qualifications and Competencies

• Insurance and risk management degree or related degree
• Diploma in Insurance/Associateship from a recognized professional body IISA/IIZ/CII
• Incumbent must be strategic, innovative thinker with broad insurance underwriting skills and business acumen
• Excellent relationship building, leadership skills and people management skills
• S/he must be resilient and persistent with good negotiating skills
