POSITION: PROJECT MANAGER

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Project Manager is responsible to effectively manage a project to completion within time, budget and quality.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

Properly manage and control the following aspects on the projects;

• An effective project integration management including project plan development, project plan execution and integrated change control.
• Five key steps: Initiation, scope planning, scope definition, scope verification and scope change control.
• Ensure the timely completion of the project in a successful way by effective time management.
• Project cost management is required to ensure that all the activities of the project are completed within the estimated budget.
• Project quality management ensures that all the processes are carried out effectively in order to satisfy the quality parameters of the project for which it has been undertaken.
• Human resource management.
• Communications Management
• Risk Management
• Procurement Management
• Ensure understanding, management and administration of the contract
• Ensure that progress, delays and any other events/situations, which might influence the program and costs are communicated timeously to Management
• Develops a cost-effective plan and schedule for completion of project following a logical pattern for utilization of resources
• Submit and manage monthly progress payments to the client
• Minimizes exposure and risk by implementing and audits safety standards and quality assurance controls
• Coordinates work of subcontractors working on various phases of the project
• Oversees performance of all trade contractors and reviews all issued drawings to make sure that all specifications and regulations are being followed
• Proper administration of construction contracts and for obtaining all necessary permits and licenses.
• Supervises site/construction managers, reviews their reports, checks on any reported difficulties, and corrects any safety violations or other reported deficiencies
• Tracks and controls construction schedule and associated costs to achieve completion of projects within time and monies allocated
• Reports to stakeholders and managers about progress and any necessary modifications of plans that seem indicated. Plans, implements, tracks and closeout construction projects
• Manages day to day operational and tactical aspects of the projects
• Manages day to day client interactions and expectations
• Accurately forecasts revenue, profitability and project costs
• Manages too, and achieves revenue goals set for projects
• Generates and issues timely internal and external project reporting on company templates
• Proactively identifies changes in project scope and ensures appropriate measures are taken pertaining to the contract
• Projects changes in scope and revenue and effectively notifies and manage contractually
• Administers process between Subcontractors, Suppliers and Construction team
• Ensure supplies and equipment are ordered and delivered according to schedule
• Handle any environmental or local community issues that may come up during a project
• Conduct site checks to monitor progress as well as safety and quality standards and implementation of the quality and safety plan (Visible Felt Leadership)

QUALIFICATIONS:

A diploma or degree in Engineering/Project Management or Construction Management will be advantageous. SACPCMP Registration as a Professional Construction Manager or higher

EXPERIENCE:

Individual must have a minimum of 10 years of Project Management experience with a minimum of 5 years in the Power Line/Substation environment. Proven experience and training in the NEC and FIDIC contacts will be advantageous as well as Transmission lines : 132/400/765 KV, Outdoor substation 132/400/765 KV and Renewables.
