SITUATION VACANT (1 NO. POSITIONS) | Hotel General Manager – (Gaborone, Botswana)
Hotel 430 (Pty) Ltd, a prestigious hotel in the heart of Gaborone, is seeking an accomplished Hotel General Manager to lead its operations. With 100 luxury rooms, fine dining restaurants, curated wine experiences, spa, and events facilities, we require a leader who can combine impeccable service standards with strong commercial acumen.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The successful candidate will be responsible for elevating guest experience standards while driving best-in-class commercial results. The role requires proven expertise in optimising revenue (RevPAR), managing costs effectively, and scaling operational systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead all hotel operations: Rooms/Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage (restaurants, bars, banqueting), Spa/Wellness, Engineering, and Events.

Curate fine dining and wine experiences in collaboration with culinary and sommelier teams.

Drive commercial performance: deliver YoY revenue/RevPAR growth, optimise channel mix and direct bookings, and manage GOP and cashflow.

Oversee technology platforms: PMS rollout/optimisation (IDS Next or similar), channel manager, RMS, and reputation systems; ensure data-driven decision-making.

Implement brand standards, SOPs, and guest-experience KPIs; Align operations with 5-star rating criteria.

Enforce cost controls, particularly F&B cost %, procurement governance, and inventory management.

Build a high-performance culture through recruitment, mentoring, and succession planning.

Nurture VIP, corporate, and travel-trade relationships; represent the brand with owners, media, and stakeholders.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

At least 15 years of progressive leadership in luxury hotels, with recent GM or multi-property/cluster responsibility.

Proven track record of delivering YoY revenue growth, RevPAR gains, and GOP improvement.

Demonstrable success with PMS and distribution tools (e.g., IDS Next or equivalent), OTA strategy, and direct booking growth.

Strong F&B leadership (menu engineering, banqueting, wine culture) and cost-of-sales control.

Experience in guest reputation management with measurable GRI improvements.

Financial acumen in budgeting, forecasting, pricing/revenue tactics, and owner reporting.

Exceptional people leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Degree in Hospitality/Business (or equivalent); ISO 22000 (Food Safety) knowledge is an advantage.
