Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Support: Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting
  • Ensure program data is accurately captured and securely stored in SSI’s electronic MEL systems in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate the collection of project data in accordance with proposal requirements and the MEL framework.
  • Process and analyze data, including extracting and transforming data from DHIS2 using SPSS and Excel to ensure accuracy, generate indicators, and support evidence-based monitoring and reporting.
  • Reporting
  • Compile weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual MEL reports for submission to the MEL Assistant Manager for donor, government, and partner reporting.
  • Quality Assurance
  • Coordinate and monitor quality assurance processes for program activities.
  • Lead quarterly routine Data Quality Assurance (DQA) exercises and data deep dives to assess accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and consistency of program data.
  • Conduct monthly field visits to perform quality checks, including spot checks in households and facilitator observations in schools or program sessions.
  • Support the development of quality assurance tools and train staff on their use and documentation.
  • Conduct monthly follow-ups with program supervisors to track progress and ensure timely implementation of quality assurance schedules.

  • Mentor and build the capacity of MEL and program staff to implement MEL activities in line with donor requirements and standards.
  • Assist in reviewing and strengthening data collection tools and provide targeted training where necessary to improve data quality.
  • Provide technical guidance to staff on data processing, analysis, and interpretation to support evidence-based reporting.
  • Knowledge Management and Business Development
  • Coordinate the development and maintenance of electronic databases and other SSI M&E resources.
  • Contribute to the development of indicators and MEL components during proposal development.

  • Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, /Health Information Management/Social Sciences – Statistics, or a related field.
  • Experience
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation or data management
