1. Supervises the activities of the section and allocates duties and responsibilities to ensure the provision of accurate Geographical Information System (GIS) services.
2. Participates in establishing Corporation GIS requirements and proposes efficient and cost effective conceptual solutions.
3.  mplements the geographical information data model to facilitate provision of information in a format required by the user.
4. Ensures the implementation of GIS standards, policies and specifications in order to ensure availability of accurate data.
5.  Supervises the capturing of information and data (spatial and tabular) required for the creation of a geo-database to required standards.
6. Supervises the creation and maintenance of the geo-data bases to ensure accuracy, accessibility and integrity of data.
7. Procures and maintains GIS infrastructure (hardware and software) in accordance with standards, policies and specifications to ensure availability of accurate GIS services.
8. Provides technical support and advice to the Corporation in relation to GIS issues.
9. Ensures compliance to SHER procedures when carrying out duties.
10. Promotes safety awareness in line with SHER requirements through periodic audits
