Job Purpose

To operate and monitor the day-to-day operations of the well field pumps to ensure a continuous supply of raw water for the running of the power station.

Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities
JobRole
  1. Operates borehole pumps to ensure a continuous supply of raw water to the station.
  2. Records water levels and flow meter readings for further analysis on abstraction and water flow levels and reporting purposes.
  3.  Monitors and records electricity consumption of the boreholes for internal recoding purposes.
  4.  Carries out inspections on the boreholes and pipelines to identify any operational defects such as leaks and reports to the supervisor.
  5.  Records rainfall and weather data in order to have records of the weather patterns for the well fields for input into recommendation on overall resource management.

  7.  Prepares periodic reports on activities of the well fields for review by the supervisor.
  8.  Responsible for cleanliness of the repeater station and individual borehole site.
UNDERTAKES SUCH OTHER RELATED DUTIES AS DIRECTED BY THE SUPERVISOR

  2. Security of boreholes
  3. Adherence to departmental procedures.
  4. Adherence to safety and housekeeping standards
  5. Prompt reporting of well field defects
Qualifications
JobQualification

Recognised Certificate in Borehole Maintenance and Water Supply or equivalent, with Class B Drivers License.

Experience
JobExperience

At least three (3) years relevant experience in water supply and maintenance or Borehole operating environment.
