Redpath Botswana (Electrician Trainer)

Redpath is the world’s premier full-service underground mining contractor. Redpath Botswana are excited to be looking for one (1) Electrician Trainer for the new Jwaneng Underground Mining Development Project.

Basic function of the position:

The role as an Electrician Trainer is to ensure provision of general surface and underground electrical installation and maintenance services for the project.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Execute and maintain electrical system records, drawings, designs etc. in accordance with industry standards and requirements.

• Conduct Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments as required to ensure all works are conducted in a safe manner to eliminate the risk of injury to personnel and damage to equipment.

• Keep the Project Manager and Superintendent aware of the state of equipment in the mine with respect to potential problem areas.

• Maintain a stable electrical operations workforce and act as the first point of grievance for the crew.

Minimum qualifications and experience required for this position

• Electrical Trade Certificate, with High Voltage Switching qualifications.

• Driver’s License, First Aid & CPR.

• Minimum 10 Years’ experience in electrical installation and maintenance in an Underground Mining environment.

• Experience maintaining Sandvik range of mobile equipment.

• In-depth, extensive knowledge and application of safe and reliable electrical installation and maintenance practices to maximise equipment and system reliability.

• Drivers License, First Aid & CPR
